My aunt bought me my first set of tarot cards when I was sixteen. I’m in my mid forties now and I still have that deck. I have quite a few others, but I still love using it, and I get a renewed sense of awe every time I pull it out and it hasn’t completely fallen apart yet.
I grew up watching my grandmother read cards for my mother and my aunts. She was quite the character, and she introduced me to what I thought of at the time as an alternative to more traditional spirituality. It started a curiosity that had probably always been there but needed some nudging. As I grew, I explored tarot, astrology, and the basics of eastern philosophies.
I read casually in my early adulthood, and then I started taking it seriously as I delved into an intense spiritual exploration that started a number of years ago. It’s catalyst was a poignant loss of a a very special family member. Ever since that loss I have spent most of my time since exploring the ideas of spirit, how we perceive reality, consciousness, the nature of our existence, and how energy seems to be the language of everything.
I mostly taught myself how to read tarot. And over the years, as I’ve read for others, the cards have taught me as well. How their meanings can shift with context and with the client’s own energy. I consider my education as ongoing and continue to be open to different perspectives. I’ve written two of my own books of tarot meanings. They are unpublished but writing them weas a labor of love, and I am proud of them.
During my exploration I have also started to expand my modalities and experiment with my abilities. I’ve taken classes, seminars and workshops with a number of teachers. I received my Spirit Led Reiki certification and attunement. I’ve studied mediumship, oracle card readings — which I now bring into my psychic tarot readings — trance and channeling, working with spirit guides, precognition, remote viewing, and reading psychically without tools. Though I love my cards, so I expect I’ll always keep them nearby.
It is my passion to continue to grow and expand in both my awareness and consciousness, and it is my hope to offer a guiding hand and a source of empowerment to others still trying to navigate their own spiritual journeys.
